Simón Bolivar International Airport of Maiquetia (CCS) is Venezuela’s main airport, located 24 km northwest of Caracas city.
The airport is named in Spanish Aeropuero Internacional de Maiquetia Simón Bolivar.
Caracas Airport was inaugurated in 1945, and currently has two terminal buildings – one for domestic flights and for international flights. The airport serves 10.4 million passengers per year (2012).
Approximately 40 airlines have direct flights from Caracas Airport to a large number of destinations at home and abroad. Some of the European destinations are Frankfurt, Madrid, Barcelona and Paris.
