Casablanca Mohammed V International Airport, Morocco’s largest airport. It is located 30 km southeast of Casablanca center – and serves nearly 6.5 million passengers annually.It is named after Morocco’s former king, Mohammed V.
The airport was originally built around 1950, but the first years modest capacity. In 2007, however, it expanded with two new terminals – and has since been the main airport for this part of Morocco.
There are several airlines that have a fixed base at Casablanca Airport – including Morocco’s national flyselskab Royal Air Maroc and companies Jet4you, Air Arabia Maroc and Regional Air Lines.There are direct flights from here to a number of international destinations – mainly in Europe and Africa, but also in Asia.
To get from the airport to downtown Casablanca, one can use either bus, taxi or train. The train leaves from the station under Terminal 1 every hour. If you want to rent a car, you will find the offices of the international rental agencies Avis, Budget, Europcar, Hertz, Sixt and Thrifty at the airport.
When it comes to public facilities at Casablanca Airport, there’s a good selection of restaurants, snack bars and cafes. Store selection is also relatively wide and internationally. In the central hall there is a small center offering fax, photocopying and computers with internet access. There is also a meeting room here, which seats 70 people.
Casablanca Mohammed V International Airport has two airport hotels, Atlas Hotel (3-star) and a hotel in the transit area of Terminal 2, which offers short-stay only for transit passengers.
