The city of Lincoln is located in eastern England, on the River Witham, and is the administrative center of the county of Lincolnshire.
The city has about 100,000 inhabitants, while the metropolitan area has a population of approximately 250,000 (2008).
Lincoln is best known for its historic medieval town where the famous Lincoln Cathedral. The cathedral is from 1092 and over 250,000 tourists visit this year.
Other popular tourist attractions include Lincoln castle “Lincoln Castle” from 1215, the Episcopal castle from the Middle Ages and the Roman arch “Newport Arch” – the remains of a Roman street from the 3rd century.
