Eilat is a resort and tourist town located far south of Israel Gulf of Aqaba, and has about 50,000 inhabitants (2009).The city lies at the Negev desert region, and is the only Israeli port on the Red Sea (which is part of the Indian Ocean).
Eilat has a steppe climate with warm, dry weather throughout the year. The city is experiencing 359 days of sunshine a year, and summer temperatures can rise to + 40 degrees C. In winter temperatures are generally around 22 degrees C.
The town is a popular tourist destination and receives about 1 million visitors annually. In Eilat you will find sandy beaches, great shopping in stores and malls and a busy nightlife.
