Jorge Chavez International Airport (LIM) is located 8 miles northwest of downtown Lima, serving the capital of Peru. The airport is named in Spanish Aeropuerto Internacional Jorge Chávez.
Lima Airport was established in the 1960s, and has one terminal building. The airport was expanded and renovated in 2005, and won the “Best Airport in South America 2010” by Skytrax.
About 25 airlines – including United Airlines, Taca Peru, KLM, Iberia, American Airlines and Air France – have direct flights to numerous destinations, including in Europe. It is eg. flights from here to Paris and Amsterdam.
There are good public facilities at the airport, and you’ll find a good selection of restaurants, cafes and snack bars here. There is also great shopping at the airport, after Peru Plaza Shopping Center was constructed.There are about 20 shops (including Duty-free shop).
