Eastgate is a huge shopping mall in Johannesburg. When it was opened in 1979, it was Africa’s largest. It is located approximately midway between the center and OB Johannesburg Tambo International Airport.
After the last enlargement in 2010, the mall now covers a total area of 122,000 m2. The company that owns the mall, called Liberty Life – and here’s the famous stores like Woolworths, Edgars and Dion. In total approx. 250 stores in Eastgate – including nearly 60 boutiques and 13 jewelers. Otherwise you will find here shops of every conceivable category.
In addition to all the shops, there are also several restaurants and cinemas in the center – as well as entertainment and play areas for children.
