Nelson Mandela was South Africa’s leading campaigner against apartheid system, a systematic discrimination against the colored part of the population. He became the country’s first black president in 1994 when South Africa held its first universal elections. Nelson Mandela was in prison for 27 years to make the payment to the racist regime. Now he is living proof that the struggle for justice and freedom leads.

South African culture is diverse. Much of the food is heavily meat-based and social events commonplace braai, or barbecue. South Africa has also developed into a major wine producer. Some of the best vineyards located in valleys around Stellenbosch, Franschhoek, Paarl and Barrydale.

The most popular city is Cape Town Beautifully situated on the west coast, and is a city with many good hotels and restaurants.Here you can take the gondola up to Table Mountain and visit the old Victorian harbor. From the town one can take a boat out to Robin Island where Nelson Mandela was imprisoned.

In Drake Berg is known for its beautiful landscapes, there are several, one of them is the Royal Natal National Park with waterfalls, Tugela Falls which drops 850 feet down the cliffs. Kalahari Gemsbok National Park has an abundance of wildlife.
