The seaside town of Blackpool is located in northwest England on the Irish Sea, and is part of the county of Lancashire. The city has about 140,000 inhabitants (2010), and is located 65 km northwest of Manchester.
Blackpool is famous for being a popular vacation and resort and a major tourist attraction is the 11 km long sandy beach. Close by Tower Blackpool Tower from 1894 – which extends 158 meters above ground level. The tower is built with inspiration from the Eiffel Tower Paris, and on top is an observation deck. At the foot of Blackpool Tower area includes an aquarium.
