Kuopio Airport – Kuopion Lentoasema (KUO) – located 14 km northeast of the Finnish town Kuopio, direction Siilinjärvi. There is a local airport, which has regular scheduled connection with Helsinki (Finnair and Blue1/SAS) and Tampere in Finland (Air Baltic) – and Riga in Latvia (Air Baltic).

Kuopio Airport serves just under 300,000 passengers annually.

From the airport into the center of Kuopio, one can either take a bus or taxi. If you want to rent a car, there are several opportunities within the airport, since a number of the major international rental agencies have offices here (Avis, Hertz, Europcar, Sixt, Budget).

There is a restaurant and a conference room in the airport terminal, but no shops. Right at the airport – by Lake Iso-Sala – the tourist center “Sjöterminalen” which offers a variety of outdoor activities, including fishing and boat rentals.

There are no hotels at the airport, but many in and around the center of Kuopio.
