Reading is a city of approx. 150,000 inhabitants (2010), located in Berkshire – about halfway between London and Oxford. If you include the surrounding metropolitan area, its population rises to about 250,000. The rivers Thames and Kennet meet in Reading.
Reading is an important commercial center. Here, in fact several major UK and multinational companies have their headquarters – including IT companies Microsoft and Oracle. Reading is also a center for such insurance and education.
