Seville Airport (SVQ) is first and foremost a domestic-airport, but after the low-cost airline Ryanair settled there some years ago, the number of international flights increased significantly. Several companies have come after, and today there are regular flights from here to a number of European destinations. Over 4 million passengers will now be serviced at Seville Airport annually. The airport is located 12 miles northeast of Seville.
Seville Airport is called in Spanish “Aeropuerto de Seville”.
Seville Airport was founded in 1914 and has undergone several renovations and expansions over the years. In 1991, a new terminal building opened, designed by architect José Rafael Moneo, who has placed great emphasis on the mix of Spanish and Moorish tradition.
The range of shops at Seville Airport are limited, but there are plans for more. Currently, the airport offers a large duty-free shop, and a couple of snack bars and three restaurants – including the outdoor patio El Mirador.
There is no train from the airport to the center of Seville, but the buses departing every half hour. Alternatively you can use the taxi.
