Halmstad is a port city located on the Swedish west coast, specifically in Halland County. The city is part of the landscape Halland, and administrative center for both the county and municipality.

Halmstad has about 60,000 inhabitants (2011), and is where the Nissan River flows into the Kattegat.

Halmstad is known for its beautiful beaches along the coast, and thus has great tourism summer.
