Kajaani (Kajaani) is a city and municipality in Finland.It is located on the south side of the lake Ule träsk and is the main town in the county of Kainuu, located in Finland far east of the country. The town has 37,941 inhabitants (2012).
Kajaani is a university town and the major industries are sawmills, lumber and paper industries. Paper mill UPM Kymmene was the largest private employer in Kajaani from its creation in 1907.
