Kortrijk is a municipality in the Belgian province of West Flanders West in Belgium which is located near the border with France.In 2011 the city had a population of 74,868 people.
The town has interesting historic buildings, a rich cultural life and a convenient location between Bruges, Ghent and Lille. It is known for a well-preserved and intact medieval architecture. Historic buildings that are worth visiting are the Gothic town hall from the early seventeenth century and Broel towers are two impressive towers from the 12th – and 13th-century.Belfry is a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
As most Belgian cities Kortrijk has many excellent restaurants offering local cuisine, one of them is The Café Rouge-Kortrijk. There are also excellent opportunities to sample some of Belgium’s 400 different beers. It is situated on the river Lys, and it’s nice to go for walks along the river.
