Mons is a city and a municipality in the Belgian province of Hainaut. The city has 92 523 inhabitants (2011).It is located near the border with France and under an hour by train from Brussels.Population speaks French.
Mons is known to be the cultural capital of Wallonia, and in 2015, Mons chosen to be European Capital of Culture. The year will include celebrated with a major exhibition of Van Gogh Art Museum in BAM. Van Gogh lived in Mons over a year, and one of the attractions is to visit the house where he lived.
