Salou is a small ferie-/badeby located in northeast Spain the Mediterranean.The city is located on the Costa Dorada, about 10 km south of Tarragona – and has about 20,000 inhabitants (2010). Salou is one of the most popular tourist spots in this area.
The main attraction in Salou are the beaches – where all is quality stamped with the “Blue Flag”. They are known to be child friendly, with playgrounds and many lifeguards. Inside the city there are also several nice family restaurants.
The city’s waterfront is a popular meeting place for tourists, and at the end of the promenade is the fountain “Font Iluminosa” – which is beautifully illuminated at night.
Right outside Salou are another family attraction – Port Aventura Park. It is one of the richest theme and amusement parks in all of southern Europe. Specialty areas are geographically divided (egMexico, Far West, the Mediterranean, Polynesia and China ).In addition, the park offers several shops, stage shows and water activities.
Otherwise, it’s also good with nightlife in Salou for adults – where you can find everything from cozy bars and inviting restaurants to night clubs and casinos.
Another point of interest is Salou Santa Maria del Mar church in 1766. In the area around the city is also a number of great golf courses.
The nearest airport is Reus Airport, located 14 km north of Salou.
