Vadsø is a city and a municipality in the east of Finnmark. The municipality has a 6174 (2012) inhabitants, most of whom live in Vadsø which has 5066 inhabitants. Because of significant immigration from Finland is Vadsø known as “whom the capital.”
The municipality is located along the Varanger Fjord where there are several small villages surrounded by the harsh arctic environment.
