Jerez Airport (XRY) is located 10 km northeast of Jérez center and an international airport. The airport is called in Spanish “Jerez”.
Jérez Airport was first opened in 1936 as a military airfield, and in 1946 opened it to civilian traffic. Since 1993 there has been a large increase in charter traffic here and the airport serves about 1 million passengers a year (2011).
Approximately 21 airlines have direct flights from Jerez Airport to ca. 20 destinations at home and abroad – including to Berlin, Frankfurt, Luxembourg, London and Barcelona.
Other facilities at the airport are a limited selection of shops, cafes and restaurants. In addition, internet access, information desk, medical center, bank and meeting rooms.
There are no hotels at the airport, but several in the area.
To get from the airport to downtown Jérez, one can use the bus, train or taxi. The bus takes approx. 30 min. the journey, as the train uses 9 min. Taxis are outside the Arrivals Hall of the airport.
