Kielce is a city in central Poland located between Krakow and Warsaw with 204,891 inhabitants (2009).It is also the capital of the region Świętokrzyskie Voivodeship. The city lies at the Holy Cross Mountains are the oldest mountains on the banks of the river Silnica.
Kielce is an industrial city with an emphasis on heavy industry and food processing. Limestone mines in the area were long the economic engine.
