Malmö is located in southwest Sweden by the Øresund (sea area between Sweden and Denmark), and is part of Skåne.The city has about 303,000 inhabitants (2012), and thus Sweden 3 largest (after Stockholm and Gothenburg ).

A famous landmark skyscraper in Malmö is “Turning Torso” which rises 190 meters above the ground. This is Scandinavia’s tallest residential building.

Malmö is a multicultural city and has a rich cultural life with museums, theater, opera, concerts and a diverse nightlife.

Malmo castle from the 1500s is a major tourist attraction in the city. This is the oldest surviving Renaissance castle. There are also several museums that tell the story. The building was used as a prison during the period from 1828 to 1937.
