Look under the Payment section under Debit and Credit Card Information to see what card you can use.
Goautos does not have any hidden fees or charges. However, if you add any extras such as a GPS, child seat or winter tires there will be an additional charge. Extras are paid for at the pick up location and not through Goautos.

Remember that some agencies charge an additional fee for drivers between 18 and 25 years of age. This amount can also be found under Important Information in step 2 of the booking process.

Tips before you book
Tip #1: Plan Ahead
If you need a vehicle at the last minute, we can help you. But, if you know in advance that you’ll need a car hire, you could save as much as 70% by booking early. Reserve your car 3 – 4 months in advance to find great deals and have more options. The closer you get to the date of travel, the more you may end up paying.
Tip #2: Avoid the extra insurance
It’s common for car rental companies to try and sell you additional insurance products. In reality, these are unnecessary. They cause added expense that you don’t need and may not even cover common damages like cracked windscreens.
When you book through Goautos.com, we include all the required insurance like Third Party Liability Protection (TP), Vehicle Theft Waiver (TW) and Collision Damage Waiver (CDW). We don’t charge added credit card fees or anything excess. Plus tax, airport fees and breakdown assistance are included in the quote. And for most quotes, unlimited mileage is also included.
Tip #3: Opt-out of the Satellite Navigation
Sometimes when you rent directly from a car hire company, they will suggest satellite navigation. If you aren’t familiar with where you are, this may sound like a good option. However, the fees add up fast. You may be better off just using the navigation on your smartphone or an old-fashioned map.
Tip #4: Be a cautious driver
Treat your car hire as you would your own vehicle. Practice caution when driving and parking to avoid potential accidents. And don’t leave valuables inside your rental car to tempt thieves. Take them with you or hide them out of sight. Cautious driving and obeying speed limits can save you as much as 25% on gas.
Tip #5: Bring your own child seat
Traveling with your family is expensive enough. Why add even more expense? Instead of renting a car seat on your next family trip, bring one from home. It may come as a surprise, but airlines will let you bring car seats onto the plane for free. That’s right, there is no fee. So instead of leaving it home and renting one, save a few dollars this way.
Rent a suitable car
In order to ensure that the car is suitable for your needs, consider the information below:
-
The size of the rental car
If you are going on a family vacation, you will most likely need a different car than if you are travelling alone. The most important consideration is typically how many people the car should be able to accommodate as well as its luggage capacity.
-
Where will you use the car?
Where you will be driving is important. A smaller car may be a good choice for a city, while a larger car will be more comfortable on highways. Does the car need to have air conditioning? It may be nice on a summer vacation in hot weather.
-
Do you need navigation?
One of the most common mistakes when renting a car is not having satellite navigation in foreign cities. Cars in the premium category typically have satellite navigation installed, while the more affordable rental cars do not. If you do not want to pay for navigation, you can bring your own navigation device or rely on the GPS navigation on your smartphone.
-
Are you travelling with small children?
If you are travelling with children, you will need child seats in the car. These are also counted as extras. Check in advance how much the rental agency charges for child seats. If you find that the price is too high, you might consider bringing your own child seats. However, remember that this could be inconvenient unless you will pick up and drop off the rental car at the airport. Also check whether you will be paying additional baggage fees to bring the child seats with you.
-
Make room for everyone
If you are travelling as a family or in a large group, most locations usually have mini buses available which can accommodate between 5 to 9 people
-
Important to know local conditions
Even though people rarely have problems when renting a car, being well-prepared is important. Local laws and rules may differ from what you are used to at home, and the same goes for driving customs. We recommend that you find the relevant information online before you rent a car abroad.
Tips when picking up the car
-
Give notice of delays
If you are late for the scheduled pickup time, you should notify the rental agency about your delay. Most agencies state in their rental agreement that you are not guaranteed the car you booked if you are late by more than one hour. In this event, the renter may receive a downgraded car or need to pay an additional amount for an upgraded car.
-
Check the rental agreement
Check that the rental agreement shows the same price that was given when you booked the car. If you are renting a car abroad, you are entitled to a copy of the agreement in English. Never sign an agreement written in a language you do not understand.
-
Inspect the car before you drive off
Check that the car is not damaged before you drive away. Inspect both the interior and exterior of the car. If you see any damage, you should notify the rental agency’s representative of this. In addition, take pictures of the car for documentation in the event that you are falsely accused for causing any damage.
Tips when dropping off the car
-
Inspect the car again
It is recommended that you take pictures of the car before you hand over the keys. In the event of a disagreement about the condition of the car, these photos can be helpful. You may also consider asking the agency representative for a written confirmation of the condition of the car at the drop-off time. It is especially important to take photos if you return the car outside of business hours.
-
Clean the car
Make sure the car is returned in the same condition as it was when you received it. Additional charges may apply if the car is dirty inside or outside.
-
Fill up the tank
It is normally cheaper to return the car with a full tank of fuel instead of having the rental agency fill it up for you. The price you pay at the fuel station is normally much lower than the price the agency charges.
